Join us as a Credit Risk Manager

• This is an opportunity for a Credit Risk Manager to take on an exciting new career challenge
• You’ll be able to build a wide network of stakeholders of varying seniority, as you act as an ambassador for the function and raise credit skills and awareness in the business
• Youll be joining a small team, where youll have lots of exposure to the organisation, and direct responsibility for a Western European focused Large Corporate portfolio
• Youll be expanding your knowledge into the Financial Institutions sector with associated Delegated Credit Authority

You’ll structure credit solutions to meet customers’ needs within the bank’s risk appetite, while providing assurance of consistent and disciplined credit underwriting, in line with risk appetite, with key risks identified.

As you develop into your role, you’ll also be driving, coaching and mentoring colleagues and less experienced credit managers.

It’ll also be your responsibility to:

• Undertake quality risk assessments across a range of lending requests from customers, making balanced underwriting decisions
• Proactively identify appropriate lending capacity within the bank’s risk appetite, taking account of counterparty and sector trends
• Clearly articulate lending decisions that include only relevant terms and conditions
• Make sure the needs and impact upon the customer are considered through all aspects of the risk assessment process allowing fair outcomes for our customers
• Work collaboratively to make sure the team deliver responses within agreed deadlines

You’ll need to hold a formal banking qualification or have equivalent professional experience with the commitment to obtain a qualification within 12 months and maintain subsequent continuous professional development once in the role. You’ll also need to be an experienced lender with sound analytical and technical credit skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to shape complex deals to create fair customer outcomes and protect the bank’s position. Youll need to be fluent in English, but its preferable if you speak Italian or French as well.

Well also expect you to have:

• A minimum of 5 years experience as a Credit Officer
• Structured Finance experience in Leveraged Finance, Project Finance
• Problem Debt Management experience
• Sound knowledge of the mid-corporate and commercial segment, sectors, and lending products
• A strong understanding of credit policy, economic, legal, regulatory and where applicable specialist sector issues, along with underwriting processes and systems
• The ability to work well as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver to agreed service standards
